Tuesday Book Tease 7…The Snow Bride

  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from…that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
  • “Find you? You mean he’d been looking for you, too?
Yes! Oh, Jenna, it was the most magical, wonderful moment of my life!
~ The Snow Bride by Debbie Macomber ~

    (Yes…I know…4 sentences but the 1st and 3rd are 1-2 words!! LOL)

Monday Mommy Tip…Move Over Marth Stewart

Short on funds but want to do something personal for friends and family? How about adding “bling” to plain brushes, compact mirrors, or purses/bags with rhinestones or beads (it’s a good thing my daughter and sister don’t read my blog…lol)? Why don’t you decorate wine glasses and make wine glass charms out of beads for your girlfriends (I now REALLY hope my girls aren’t reading this…lol)? How about creating fleece blankets that only require you to tie the end strips? Why don’t you pull out your favorite cookie/bread cookbook and purchase tins from the $1 store to give away as gifts? One year I even bought several dozen tapered candles and tied them with a bow and gave them out to visiting guests. The list is endless…do you have some ideas of your own? Post it here and share with all!

    Friday’s Blast to the Past…Games

Since Wordless Wednesday was a picture of us playing Jenga, thought this Friday I should keep with the theme and blog about what games I played with as a child.

Thursday Things I’ve Learned from…Mens Journal

I don’t know WHY I keep getting Mens Journal in the mail, hubby’s doesn’t read (well he can but you know what I mean…he’s not the toilet reader like most men…lol) and I can’t stop it and switch it to something I’d like.  Not even sure how I got it as I never paid for it but it is addressed to me.  Did I have a sex change I didn’t know about and in some sort of denial?!  Because if I did, why haven’t I been taking advantage of standing up wherever to pee?! LOL  Anyhoo…here are some things I learned from December’s issue of Mens Journal…

    1. I found 13 alcohol ads & 28 (TWENTY-EIGHT!) watch ads (yeah…my hubby asked me too why I decided to tally those up and I told him I wanted to know what men were marketed if they didn’t see all the beauty ads women got).
    2. You can rent Isla De Sa Ferradura for $212,000 a week! Yeah, sign me up for a pirate inspired weekend on an isolated island so I can pretend hubby’s Orlando Bloom for the week! LOL (Wonder if it’d be too much to ask for a Christmas/Birthday gift this year from hubby…lol)
    3. Welch’s 100% grape juice is considered the “superjuice” and like wine has great health benefits with the phenolics it contains. It can slow the growth of certain cancers and fight bad bacteria and viruses.
    4. The late Paul Newman “defined” being a man and he was still very good looking to the end.
    5. I learned how to cook the perfect steak like a pro (pg.154) so I can impress hubby and his guy friends.
